(About the Department)
The Department of Medical Services and Techniques includes associate degree programs that train qualified health technicians and healthcare vocational personnel who can take part in the diagnosis, treatment, care, support, and emergency response processes of healthcare services.
Our department aims to improve students’ professional competencies by combining theoretical knowledge, laboratory practices, vocational skills training, and applied education processes carried out in healthcare institutions. During the education process, students are expected to graduate as individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and sense of responsibility required to work in different areas of specialization within healthcare services.
The programs offered by the department are structured to meet the need for intermediate-level personnel in different areas of specialization within healthcare services. In addition to basic courses such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, professional ethics, patient safety, and occupational health and safety, students take the theoretical and practical vocational courses required by the program in which they are enrolled.
Students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills through laboratory work, hospital practices, and summer practices required by their programs. Applied education processes support students in reinforcing their theoretical knowledge under conditions close to real working environments.
The department aims to help students acquire competencies such as communication skills, a sense of responsibility, professional ethics, patient and employee safety, effective use of technology, adaptation to teamwork, and openness to professional development.
