Medical Laboratory Techniques Program Educational Aims
PEA 1: To possess the up-to-date knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to fulfill the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of a Medical Laboratory Technician; to know the medical laboratory environment and workflow; and to adopt lifelong learning to follow changes and developments in the field.
PEA 2: To use information and health technologies in line with the requirements of the profession with a holistic approach; to be meticulous about laboratory hygiene, safety, and waste management; and to define and perform the processes of accepting, analyzing, reporting, and communicating the results of specimens received by the medical laboratory.
PEA 3: To take part in education, management, and research in the field of medical laboratory by carrying out duties, authorities, and responsibilities in accordance with professional values and ethical principles.
PEA 4: To perform duties in a team spirit by using communication and leadership skills.
Program Educational Objectives
To enhance the quality of healthcare services by training medical laboratory technicians who can effectively use the methods and technologies employed in medical laboratories, take responsibility in teamwork and have strong communication skills, and sustain their professional development.
