(About the Program)
The Anesthesia Program aims to train technical health personnel who will assist anesthesiologists during surgical and interventional procedures. Program graduates support the safe, orderly, and effective execution of anesthesia practices in line with the guidance of the anesthesiologist, the operating room specialist in charge, and the surgical team.
An anesthesia technician is a health professional who takes part in processes such as preparing the patient for anesthesia and surgery, monitoring the patient during the procedure, and keeping anesthesia devices and equipment ready for use.
Graduates may work in operating rooms, anesthesia, and reanimation units, particularly in university hospitals, public hospitals, and private hospitals.
Anesthesia technicians contribute to the safe and orderly execution of the anesthesia application process in line with the anesthesiologist's instructions. In this scope, their main areas of duty are as follows:
Program graduates may work in public and private health institutions, university hospitals, public hospitals, and private hospitals in units where anesthesia services are provided.
Graduates of the Anesthesia Program may transfer to relevant undergraduate programs if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by OSYM.
The Anesthesia Program aims to train qualified health technicians who can contribute effectively to anesthesia processes in health services by grounding its education in patient safety, technical competence, teamwork, professional ethics, and careful record keeping.
