In the Medical Documentation and Secretarial program, Medical Secretaries who are needed for compiling, organizing and presenting the results obtained in scientific researches in various branches of Medicine and Health technology are trained. Medical Secretaries working in this field are the people who compile statistical data related to health, report them to the relevant units by analyzing with scientific methods, conduct communication and correspondence services in medical units, collect information and turn into a document, and work in hospitals, insurance companies, private doctor’s offices and medical research centers. Medical Secretaries are responsible for the following tasks: Carrying out public relations tasks by informing patients about the functioning of medical services and the hospital, keeping medical protocol records, writing result reports on medical examinations, patient discharge summaries and surgery reports, classifying diseases and surgeries by coding according to international coding methods, compiling and analyzing data on medical statistics and periodically reporting the results to the relevant parties, archiving patient files, other documents and reports with scientific methods, arranging appointment services, conducting communication and correspondence services in medical units, making correspondences regarding the supply of drugs, medical consumables and general consumables and supplying office equipments, making correspondences regarding maintenance and repair, following the procedures, conducting communication and other types of correspondences in the archive of medical documentation and patient files to supply medical and general fixtures, making correspondences regarding the supply of general fixtures, following the material procurement processes, making correspondences and follow up the transactions regarding the supply and maintenance and repair of general consumables. Those completing the program receive the Associate Degree diploma and the title of Member of Profession. Graduates can work in University Hospitals, State Hospitals, Family Health Units, Community Health Centers, Private Hospitals and Private Physician's Offices. If those who have completed the "Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program" become successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by OSYM, they can benefit from the vertical transfer to the Health Administration, Health Institutions Management, Health Management Undergraduate Programs.
