Anesthesia

(About the Program)

In the Anesthesia Program, technical personnel are trained to assist anesthesiologists. The Health Technician working in this field is the technical staff who does what is needed for a safe and comfortable operation and narcosis according to the instructions of the specialist who performs the surgery under the supervision of the anesthesiologist and/or the operating room specialist. Health Technicians, in accordance with the directives of the anesthesiologist, perform the following tasks: doing what is needed for a safe and comfortable anesthesia, preparing patients for anesthesia and surgery, monitoring the patient during anesthesia, checking the anesthesia device and operation table before each surgery, always keeping the environment, materials and equipment ready for the operation, positioning the patient most appropriately during the operation recording the type of anesthesia administered, drugs, devices, instruments and materials that are used, the course of anesthesia and the observations and findings related to the patient in the anesthesia follow-up form, and maintenance and conservation of all kinds of anesthesia devices, instruments, drugs and sanitary materials. Graduates can work in University, Public and Private Hospitals. If those who have completed the "Anesthesia" program are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by OSYM; they can benefit from the vertical transfer to the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services Undergraduate Programs.
